Team Le rêve earns 100 Points

Team Le rêve receives a "kick".

Team DreamWeaver Plants Inception; Lesson 2

I do not recall how the dream started. I ended up right in the middle of it. I was in my living room. Jonathan, Doug, Chi Youn and Freddie were building some sort of space ship. Before long, Doug and Jonathan had convinced me that making a video of a scene from Inception should earn their team extra points. I used my specialized training to reject the idea. They did not give up. They planted it deep in my subconscious. The idea took. It was like a poison that infected my mind. It came to define everything about me and the Hunt.

I began to imagine receiving a 60 second video from each Team. Each video would earn the Team 200 points. Then Jonathan and Doug said that they should earn extra points for being the very first to submit a video. They feel that their video is a demonstration of their level of commitment to the Hunt. I resisted. I even brought attention to the fact that the carpet in my living room was not actually the same texture as my real carpet. We were actually dreaming! I did everything I could to escape the dream. I opened the door to leave but found that there were more and more identical living rooms just like mine outside each door. It was a paradox. Each door I opened looked exactly the same. I was trapped in the dream. When I finally woke, I wrote...

Lesson 2. Each team must make a 60 second video of a scene from Inception. This Lesson if completed successfully will earn your team 200 points. Of course, you are not obligated to make this video. Stop whining, just get it done. If you're whining now, you'll definitely be crying during the hunt. Cowboy up! Inception up!

Puig Inception Q and A

Many have asked what the Scavenger Hunt will entail. This Scavenger Hunt/Amazing Race = Scavenger Race (hereafter SR) will be much different from any past Hunt. Here are some answers to some commonly asked questions:

Q. When is the Scavenger Race?
A. Monday, May 28, 2012 (Memorial holiday)

Q. Do I have to RSVP?
A. Yes. An email will be sent out in March when it’s time to commit to an RSVP.

Q. Where does the SR begin?
A. TBD

Q. Does it cost money to play the SR?
A. No. However, we are asking each person who wishes to be present for dinner at the “Finish Line Party” where the winning team will be announced to contribute $10.00 per person towards catering. This would be greatly appreciated to help offset the cost of feeding every team player and SR helpers. We simply can’t do it on our own. Thanks for your help and understanding.

Q. How do I contribute $12 for catering?
A. In March there will be a link on the Puig Inception website where you can send us $12 via Paypal. You can also simply hand it to us before the SR when you see us if you prefer.

Q. What type of food will be catered?
A. This is to be determined. It will be dinner and beverages.

Q. Who is invited?
A. We always try to include as many as possible within reason. This SR is mainly for those who have not been able to participate in previous hunts. Those who are invited have received an email invitation. If you've received an email directing you to this site, you are invited.

Q. Is the SR difficult and strenuous?
A. Yes. It is a day of running around, driving and constant on the move action with time sensitive deadlines. Think of it as a race for time, speed and wits. Challenges and puzzles are planned with adults in mind.

Q. How long will the SR last?
A. 20-23 minutes. Remember 5 minutes in a dream is one hour in reality.

Q. Can kids/teens play?
A. If you have children in your family it’s up to you if you want to take them along for the SR. Since the SR is created with adults in mind, kids and young teens will find it difficult to contribute to the success of their team.

Q. Who will be on my team?
A. You will be able to select your own team with a minimum of 3 people and up to 4 people. Having 3 people on your team will increase your difficulty level. A guest list will be published on the website in March so that you can start selecting your team and developing strategies.

Q. Who is going to be the driver?
A. Your team will decide who the driver will be and which Team Member’s car to use. The driver has the largest responsibility. The driver must be as careful as possible and put safety first.

Q. Should I give gas money to the driver?
A. Yes. Please plan on giving the driver $5.00 per person to contribute towards gasoline.

Q. What will I need the day of the SR?
A. You should plan on bringing a GPS, internet equipped phone or ipad, snacks, water and $5.00 per person for gas for the driver.

Q. Will there be a prize for 1st place?
A. TBD.

Q. Where will the SR take place?
A. In various parts of Los Angeles and Orange County.

Q. I don’t know those counties well, will I have a disadvantage?
A. No. Just use your GPS and internet and you should be fine. The last two Hunts 1st place winners were from out of state. Stop whining already.

Q. If I show up late at the Starting Line can I meet up with my team later?
A. The Dream waits for no one. If you are late and the SR starts it’s up to your team if they want to coordinate a meet-up place. Don’t be late!

Q. Do you need help the day of the Scavenger Race?
A. Yes. I will need 10 volunteers to be Helpers on the day of the hunt. Helpers will be stationed at various points in the SR and will rendezvous directly with Teams during the SR. If you’d like to be a part of the day’s activities without all the running around this is a good option. Please contact me if you’d like to be a Helper.

Q. What if I get caught cheating?
A. You will be pelted with water balloons and made to wear a dunce cap that says “cheater”. Sadly, we’ve had cheaters in the past and it is disappointing to us. The SR is meant to be a fun day for all to enjoy. There is no gold medal. There is no reason to cheat.

Puig Inception Scavenger Hunt 2012

On Monday, May 28, 2012 we will plant an idea in your mind, bring you into a dream and fill it with your subconscious. The Puig's would like to announce their newest concept of a Scavenger Hunt. The "Inception" Hunt. Who's dream are you in? What level of the dream are you in? What's reality and what is actually a dream? Be sure not to miss the kick or your team could be stuck in "limbo" forever. If you thought the last Hunt was mayhem, when you see what we've been dreaming up you'll think it's a nightmare. This dream is by invitation only.
